There they go again. After the eruption at Iceland’s Eyjafjallajökull volcano sent ash clouds across Europe in April and May 2010, the island nation’s largest volcano, Grimsvötn, erupted late Saturday May 21, spewing ash even higher – some 12 miles high. Authorities shut down Iceland’s main airport, Keflavik, and imposed a 120-mile no-fly zone around the volcano.
But although this eruption is larger, its impact currently looks to be less than last year’s eruption, which grounded planes across Europe…
