FAA Says Electronic Devices Now Allowed In-Flight. So Why The Heck Were We Turning Them Off All This Time?

passengers with electronic devicesThe Federal Aviation Administration has revised its regulations so that “Passengers will eventually be able to read e-books, play games, and watch videos on their devices during all phases of flight, with very limited exceptions,” reads a statement issued today.

Which begs the question: if electronic devices are OK now, why have we been getting yelled at to turn them off for so long?
