Happy Food Day! Wait, you didn’t know there was a Food Day? Neither did I – today is the first. Brainchild of the Washington, DC-based Center for Science in the Public Interest, it’s designed to promote healthy eating of real foods that are sustainably grown, and eliminate the triplet diet devils of fat, sugar and salt that have taken over much of America.

To add to the conversation: I facilitated a session on culinary travel at the Travel Blog Exchange earlier this year in Vancouver, and from food writers and PR people we crowd-sourced a list of 10 foods that soon will be on your radar if they’re not already.
