United Airlines Quitting New York’s JFK Airport: What It Means for Passengers and Alliance Partners

United Airlines announced this week that it will cease operations at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The airline’s passengers and partners are probably not going to like it.

You didn’t hear about this? That’s because United basically buried the announcement in a news release about changes to its flights between the New York area and Los Angeles and San Francisco, the two airports currently served out of JFK.
